Let’s call that positive stress. It encourages you to step forward and gives meaning to your life and efforts.

But when anxiety gets over your mental power, it will affect your normal life and turn to debilitating pressure.

Let’s call this bad stress, which takes a long time and results in worry and anxiety.

Remember, stress is the main root of depression, sensitivity, and upset [10,11,12].

A stressor is a thing or event that can drive anxiety and cause stress.

For example, people who don't like them, sudden noises, exams, or even buying a new house can be stressful. 

Sometimes, the more you meet a stressor, the more you get stressed.

Side Effect On Your Health

Stress affects your thoughts, emotions, or behavior.

For the reason to control the stress, you have to the symptoms of your stress.

If you don't control your concern, that will give rise to different diseases such as obesity, heart problems, high blood pressure, and even diabetes.

Common symptoms on your physical health can be such as:

  • Smoking
  • Drinking too much alcohol
  • Anorexia or overeating Nervosa

What is the Fight or Flight Response?

It’s also known as the acute reaction, means your physiological response to a stressful event.

Here, your body releases hormones that prepare you to decide either to cross swords with the stress or run away.

Then, those hormones make your sympathetic nervous system take an active part and wake up the adrenal glands to stimulate adrenaline and noradrenaline.

For that reason, some physical problems may happen, such as blood pressure, rapid breathing, or faster heart pulse. When the stressor vanishes, your body will come back to the normal status.

What can cause stress?

The reaction to a stressor differs from one person to another. 

For example, what can make one person stressed may be normal for another.

Everyday stressors can be such as

  • Being late or in rush
  • Workplace or job problems
  • Being stuck in a traffic
  • Pregnancy
  • Exams
  • Job interviews
  • Financial problems
  • Divorce
  • Waiting for something
  • And etc.
